Born in France in 1965, Olivier has been a photographer for Agence France-Presse (AFP) since 1990. He was successively based in Bordeaux, Lille, Paris where he photographed mainly international sports , Eastern France Photo chief based in Strasbourg , before becoming Chief Photographer for the Nordic Countries in Stockholm and spending Six years in AFP Milan, Italy.
From 2016 to 2021 he was the Editor in Chief Photo France based in Paris.
Now back to the field since September 2021, in charge of photographing and coordinating the coverage of the future of the planet, the impacts and solutions regarding the climate change, lifestyle and biodiversity, with outdoor-water features.
He covered a variety of news events including socials crises, international politic, daily life, economy, fashion and sports, 12 Olympic Games, both Summer and Winter, soccer (Football) WC, rugby WC, Athletics Worlds Championships, Alpine skiing World cups and World Championships on a regular basis.
Olivier was awarded first prize in the 2000 Fuji photo contest for an archery picture from the Sydney Olympics, 2nd prize and 3rd prize in Sportfolio in 2013 and 2015, and won Italy’s sports picture of the year in 2013 for a shot of Usain Bolt under lightning bolt during the 100m final at the World Championships in Moscow, Sports Illustrated photo of the year with this photograph also , and lately at the SIPA2024 among others awards.
He exhibited his work internationally, at the Gacilly Photo Festival in France and Austria, At the FCC in Hong kong, at the Swiss photo Festival in Bern-Munsigen, in France at the "Galerie le 115" in Bordeaux, in Le Chesnay-Rocquencourt ( 30 years of Summer Olympic Games) , in Villennes-sur-Seine (Agony of Arctic), in Viry-Chatillon ("Le Grand Blanc" , the Great North) .
